A Teacher, But I’m Feared as a Witch Volume 3 chapter 15

Extra Chapter: Ramsey’s Astonishment

The match with Aoi ended, and Ramsey had called Felter to share a meal. Perhaps because he couldn’t be bothered, he chose a restaurant specializing in meat quite close to the announcement square—a choice very typical of him.

Led to the largest private room in the fairly upscale establishment, Ramsey immediately ordered alcohol. His wife, Fiore, decided on all the other menu items, while Felter sat silently with his arms crossed, looking somewhat annoyed.

The drinks arrived promptly, and Ramsey downed his in one go. It was a strong distilled spirit, but given that he ordered another of the same from the waiter bringing the appetizers, it seemed he had quite a tolerance for alcohol.

After the waiter who took the additional order left the room, Ramsey glared at Felter and spoke.

“…That woman, Aoi. Just who is she? I couldn’t see the bottom of her strength.”

Felter blinked, unusually looking taken aback by Ramsey’s words, which were spoken as if in anger. Then, he let out a breathy laugh.

“Pretty honest there, old man.”

“Shut up.”

Ramsey complained irritably at Felter’s words. This time, Fiore smiled.

“How unusual. It must have been years since I last saw you looking so frustrated.”

As Fiore chuckled elegantly, Ramsey clicked his tongue, seeming uncomfortable.

“The last time I had such a difference in ability shown to me was when I first traded blows with my old man. Damn it. Unknowingly, I seem to have grown arrogant, thinking I couldn’t lose in close combat. To think, a small woman like her would…”

Ramsey said this and snorted. Watching him with amusement, Felter spoke up.

“Don’t worry. I’ve become Aoi’s disciple. Next year, I’ll make you feel the same way, old man.”

“Shut up.”

When Felter cracked his joke, Ramsey complained again.

While this was going on, lavish dishes were laid out, and a new drink was placed before Ramsey.

He drained it in all of two seconds.

“Another.”

“Y-yes, sir!”

The waiter’s eyes were wide with shock as Ramsey kept downing each new drink the moment it arrived. Felter watched with a look of disbelief, while Fiore looked on with an amused smile.

“…So. About Lady Aoi’s capabilities.”

Ramsey, finding himself with nothing to do again, immediately fixed his gaze on Felter and spoke. He probably desperately wanted to know. Understanding that feeling, Felter let out a sigh but listened.

“That one overwhelmed me using a sword and body enhancement magic. But, she’s a senior teacher at that Fidic Academy, right? She can use other magic too, I assume?”

When Ramsey asked as if confirming, Felter nodded as if it were nothing special.

“She can use all attribute magic. Not just that, but advanced, special grade, and even original spells too. Just from what I’ve seen, she has some terrifying ones that could take on a large army.”

As Felter answered, Fiore brought her hand to her mouth in surprise.

“My, oh my.”

Her reaction was almost too refined, making it hard to tell if she was genuinely surprised, but Ramsey’s eyes were wide open in clear astonishment.

“…A monster.”

Perhaps accepting all of Felter’s explanation as truth, Ramsey muttered that single word. Pondering something, Ramsey crossed his arms and groaned. Meanwhile, Fiore busily took care of Felter, deftly serving him appetizers and checking if he needed anything to drink.

“…Felter, you…”

Just as Ramsey suddenly called Felter’s name, a server arrived. More dishes were placed on the table, and finally, Ramsey’s drink was provided… in an entire barrel.

“My, what a thoughtful establishment!”

Fiore said happily and handed the barrel to Ramsey. It should have been quite heavy, but Fiore lifted it without any difficulty.

Ramsey took the barrel with one hand, brought it to his mouth, and tilted it. The alcohol poured into Ramsey’s mouth as if refueling a car with gasoline, making even Felter look up at the spectacle unintentionally.

After chugging down about a third of it in one go, Ramsey returned to the conversation.

“Felter, what kind of training are you doing with Lady Aoi?”

“…Body enhancement magic and close-quarters combat techniques.”

When Felter answered, Ramsey groaned, still holding the barrel with one hand.

“Hmm… I should have hammered the secrets of unarmed combat into you. And yet, you’re still no match for her?”

“…It’s a different type. I challenged her even without magic, but if Aoi has a sword, nothing works. Trying to overpower her with strength, trying to counter-attack during her assaults… strangely, nothing connects. It’s like she can see the future; my attacks just cut through empty air.”

So explained Felter, describing Aoi’s fighting style. In response, Ramsey furrowed his brows, made a sour face, and took a swig from the barrel.

Then, he lifted his face.

“…Perhaps I should stay at the magic academy for a while and see Lady Aoi’s fighting style with my own eyes. Can I stay here for two months?”

Ramsey blurted this out while looking at Fiore. Then, Fiore, wearing a gentle smile, nodded.

“Of course… Absolutely not.”

“Wh-why not…?”

Clearly rejected, even the formidable Ramsey couldn’t hide his shock, his eyes going round. Smiling wryly at this, Fiore spoke.

“It’s only natural. We would be in quite a predicament if you didn’t properly hand over your work duties first.”

At Fiore’s perfectly reasonable point, Ramsey fell silent with an indescribable expression.

“Besides, even this current trip means you’ve been away from the territory for quite a number of days. Just that alone was terribly difficult to arrange. So extending it is obviously impossible, isn’t it?”

Her tone was gentle, but Fiore exuded an atmosphere of absolute refusal. Ramsey furrowed his brows and shot a glare at Fiore as if angry.

“…I know. But, if I can become more proficient in magic and stronger, our territory will also become more secure—”

“That’s not the point here? The issue is that the lord cannot take months off from his official duties. If you’re interested in Aoi’s magic, wouldn’t it be better to get information through other means? Felter here seems to be learning quite a bit from her, after all.”

Cutting off Ramsey’s argument, Fiore gently but firmly denied him. Even Ramsey was left speechless, frozen like a rock. Watching him with a wry smile, Fiore looked at Felter.

“Besides, if your father were to attend the same academy, wouldn’t that perhaps be awkward for you too, Felter?”

As Fiore said this laughing, Felter nodded deeply.

“It’d be a pain.”

“…Guh.”

Cut down decisively with those few words, Ramsey finally fell completely silent.
